Under the supervision of an adult advisor, Teen Leaders engage in work experience, determine their own program goals and work together to meet those goals. Students gain public speaking/presentation experience, evaluate program success, make recommendations for improvement. On completion of the term, students fill out leadership self-assessments and have one-on-one interviews with their leadership coach who guides them in a reflection on how to continue to develop their skills.
Girls Rock! GR
Girls Rock! Grand Rapids (GR!GR) is a week long summer camp that exists to empower girls and gender-expansive youth through music. Each year, kids and teens at camp get to participate in instrument exploration, workshops, band forming, song writing, and logo and album art creation. They also get to record their new songs in a professional recording studio and then perform them live in front of an audience. It seriously rocks.
“Leg Godt” is a Danish phrase that means “play well.” Students will have plenty of time for free play but will also be a part of challenging STEAM activities.
